April 25, 2024 Thursday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:45 to 2:05 and there were four seals seen during that time.
Initially on LPB was TA68. He was ID'd by his pit scars on his upper left side, his almost healed right side pit scar, mottled gray male belly and the nb near his umbilicus. He left LPB about 1 pm and later visited with Pua RF34 and PO3.
Mom Pua and PO3 were still between Middle Cliff and 3BS. Pup is still putting on the pounds, playing with coral rock and the usual pup activities. At 1:15 TA68 hauled out near Pua and pup. Mom was not happy, she charged TA68 with her mouth open and kept moving toward him. He decided to leave by tolling down the beach and then
leaving.
Between 3BS and SRI was an Unknown Adult: adult size, lighter ventral with a scar on the left mid-ventral side, and two red tags. Marilyn suspects this is a female but could not confirm.

Team R&B first find was at Nimitz. There was RN14 Kalani resting and all was good until some people came walking by. Sadly this guy is a resident and has often walk too close to the seals. Years ago his dog ran off a seal a few times.
Since they were in the area they decided to check plains. There was a zone up and they were happy to see the lovely Miss Aukai RL12. She is doing just find and was resting peacefully.

Next stop at Kahe where they saw two fishermen on the rocks by a seal. Team R&B watched to see if they would bother the seal. Initially it looked good, but soon turned around. The fishermen were using poles to catch vanna, when one of them so close to the seal. The seal was RG28 Lefty who perked up and barked with is mouth wide open. The guy thought this was funny. Team R&B ran over to talk to them
but they had run off RG28.  Lefty came back up to the right, and the guys went to take pictures, when Team R&B yelled out to them. Thankfully they packed up and left in their truck.
Thankfully RG28 Lefty remained on the rocks.

After leaving Kahe they were happy to find Miss Kala RH76 at the bay. She was alone sleeping peacefully. Once again she managed to keep herself away from the boys.
Team R&B saw another seal from afar, so they took the ride.  They found R3CX Nalu. He was resting on shore at restcamp. They had two minutes to get his ID as the waves hit him and he turned and left with the next big wave.

Last but not least they found RL42 Leia. Once again she was on the rocks resting with the waves getting her. Team R&B saw some folks in the area so they headed out to keep her from being seen.
