February 13, 2024 Tuesday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:15 to 1:10 and there were six seals on island during that time.
Furthest out on the rock flats of LPB was R606: larger sub-adult size, very light male belly, no tags and nb on tip of RFF.
Initially closer to LPB on the Lanikai side of rock flats were three seals:
Adult Male: adult size, medium gray male belly, not sure about tags.
He later moved down into the water and hauled out again near R606.
Sub-adult Male: sub-adult size, light tan male belly, two red tags. He initially was in front of the Adult Male but then moved around and joined RP24. Later the Subadult Male moved down into the channel rocks, then into the water and hauled out in a channel of the AM.
RP24: sub-adult female, light female belly, two red tags and nb on the tip of her LFF.
On the water line between 3BS and SRI was a Juvenile Female: juvenile size, light female belly and two red tags.
Behind waterfront rocks between SRI and RRB was an Adult Female: adult size, light female belly and unsure about tags.

Team R&B's first find of the day were two seals resting side by side.  The big fat male was RL08 aka bam bam square pants. They noted his L08 tag is missing but he still has his L09 tag on his left flipper.
He also has another cyst on the right side of his rump.
Next to him was the original fisher thief RH32 Kaale. He has gained a lot of weight and it makes them happy to see him looking plump and healthy. A couple of weeks ago he was looking a little thin. It was also nice he and RL08 were resting peacefully and no tourist bothering them.

They headed over to another west side location, and noted this area is getting a little uncomfortable with a growing population of homeless folks and their dogs.
They saw a seal resting in a small pond. They ID'd Kai RM31 looking fine and as usual very cute.
To the left was big boy RG28 Lefty. He was alone by seal inlet snoozing. His left white fore flipper and cc scars were all visible.

At another spot they spotted some whales. They watched as a mom and calf spouted, with the calf looking so little, coming up every 3 to 5 minutes to spout with Mom. Always a joy to observe.
