February 16, 2024 Friday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Tammy and Team R&B💕

Tammy met up with Lesley and went out to the point.  She noted that the surf was huge! They did find three seals today. The first find was RL47 Kamakana. Next they found a critter with lots of scars and untagged. Neither Tammy or Lesley recognized the seal and concluded it might be a new visitor.  Lastly they found the lovely RN58 Luana, looking quite big and healthy.
Tammy also checked on the Albatross chicks and some of them are on their own already. The others certainly are growing up fast.

Team R&B started this cold chilly morning at the bay. The waves were big but they did manage to find Miss Kala RH76. She was in her zen garden alone resting peacefully.
There was an elderly woman there so Team R&B pointed out the seal, but she couldn't see it at all. So they showed her a picture and the woman was shocked as to how big it was. She said she was looking for a small animal. Team R&B told the woman a little history about Miss Kala. Lets just say I am sure this was an experience the woman will never forget.

They got a message that there was a big fat seal on shore at plains.  They headed over and there were signs that had been put up. There on shore was none other than the very fat Miss Aukai RL12.  (she better head to Rabbit Island).
Team R&B were told that R407 had been on the reef resting. About 15 minutes before they arrived a dog ran the seal off.  They did see photo to confirm it was R407, and thankfully the dog and seal did not have contact.

Their last stop they went to check out the waves. The waves were huge and beautiful, the area was actually closed off to people.
Of course their HMS radar went off and they spotted a seal hidden in the rocks. At first they couldn't make an ID.
Then the whales showed up and put on a show.
When they looked back to check on the seal they noticed the waves were getting the best of it and the seal swam off.  They could only determine that it was an adult, couldn't see if there were tags.
