Team R&B were out checking out the west side beaches and spotted Kaale RH32 from afar. They kept tabs on him.
Then they happen to see a small group of people get very close to Kaale, who was awakened from his snooze. He moved and barked at them, but they didn't back off. Team R&B hurried over and there were tourist close to Kaale, so they called out to the mom and she looked back at them somewhat confused.
Team R&B informed them to keep their distance from the seal, to give it space to rest and this was an endangered species. The woman replied that she was just taking pictures. (AND this is why people need to be informed on their flights what the rules are).
Team R&B told her they needed to get back and to have her kids move away as well. Seems the woman was "offended"
Team R&B called the hotline to inform them of the situation, and rather than trusting Team R&B there were many questions and they were told not to yell at the tourist. The family of tourist left the site in their rental car. A cop came by the area and Team R&B shared their photos and the cop confirmed the car was a rental. Meanwhile RH32 remained on shore, a little agitated and Team R&B headed out.
Team R&B's goal today was to find RK72 Kekoa Alii. They know NOAA want to retrieve their equipment. After racking up the miles today they finally found him resting on the rocks at one of the sites. They confirmed it was him by his tag and the camera and sat tag. They notified NOAA and they came out to access the situation. Then a homeless woman came over and Kekoa got spooked and left.
While hanging out with RK72, they were entertained by some of the whales having fun.
