Team R&B started their day at the bay and were happy to find Miss Kala RH76. She was at her zen rock garden. They noted a black mark on her lip they had not seen before. They couldn't tell what it was but did send it in on their report.
Next stop they were out on the beach looking out at the ocean. Suddenly they see a seal swim pass, so they followed along the shore line. It was RK72 Kekoa Alii and he hauled out, but seemed a little skittish and went back into the water. Then he came back and landed for good, went right to sleep. His tracker and sat tag are still on, so they notified NOAA.
While still at the same location they spotted another seal swimming by. The seal turns around and hauls out. It was Kaale RH32, who spots Kekoa and Kekoa sees him. There was no interaction just looks.
Team R&B got a text from a friend of a seal on shore at plains. They headed over and saw the seal was roped off and signs were up. There were lots of folks on the beach and lots of kids running and playing.
They ID'd RL12 Aukai who was very alert especially with the kids yelling. She was fine just aware of all the people. They called the hotline. Team R&B spent time answering lots of questions from the kids. They were very excited to see a seal in the wild.
Next stop they were happy to find a seal in the area again. Today it was the handsome R407 Kawika. One of the guys at the site said he had hauled out around 9:30ish.
On their last stop they they spotted a seal hauling up on shore. No sooner the seal was on shore a woman ran up to it to take a photo. They called the hotline to notify them of all the folks at the beach and that a seal just hauled out.
When they got closer to the area they saw the seal was a male with two red tags. They weren't sure who it was until they saw the number 3. That was enough for them to see it was Nalu R3CX who was back. It's been a while since they have seen him,
