Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:05 to 3:05 and there were four seals seen during her observation.
Between middle cliff and 3BS was an Adult Male: subadult to adult size, light gray male belly and two red tags.
Almost directly down from 3BS was a Subadult Male: subadult size, light gray male belly and two red tags.
Together in SRI were two Unknown Adults: both were adult size, but neither showed their ventral side ot rear flippers. A black crowned heron was near the UAs in one of the photos.
Team R&B spotted a seal from afar that was high up on shore. They hurried over to the area and found R604. They looked over her body very carefully, she is filled with so many scars. She seems to be doing fine and no new wounds to report.
Next they headed over to secrets, when they arrived they found three seals on shore. There on shore were three males hanging out, RN14 Kalani, RG28 Lefty and RL08. They hurried to put the signs out with ropes. They called the hotline. They stayed around educating people until a volunteer arrived.
At another west side location they could see the storm was approaching. They hurried to make IDs of the seals on the rocks. They hurried over to the rocks and hid from the heavy wind and rain. On lower rocks was Kala RH76. Left high rocks was Kekoa Alii RK72. At seal inlet was little Puka RP30. Last but not least was Leina RL70 at the water front rocks.
At their last stop they spotted a little seal on shore so they hurried over to make an ID. At
Team R&B were surprised to see the little seal was RQ24 Mauna. He was looking at the couple, even whooped at them and postured. Team R&B yelled out for them to get back. They then called the hotline. The woman laid down on the sand and hubby took her photo. As more people arrived they asked them to keep their distance, thankfully all did except for that one couple. Such a shame!
