Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:20 to 2:05, she didn't stay long today due to the wind gust making it hard to see. There were three seal on Island during her quick observation.
Alone on LPB was Subadult Male #1: subadult size, light gray male belly, at least one ted tag, and possible scar or NB on the mid right side.
Unknown Unknown: dark coat, ventral side was not visible or the length of the animal. She would guess it to be an adult size.
Subadult Male #2: subadult size, light male belly and two red tags.
Team R&B were out on this cold, blustery day, and while searching for seals they found whales.
They were out in the waters doing their thing, so amazing.
They got word of three seals on shore at secrets. When they arrived there were only two seals, and then they heard someone kicked sand at one of the seals and it left.
They made note of RL08 having some markings not sure if they were bite marks or scratches.
Later in the day they headed out to Makaha and were happy to find a seal. There was RG40 Holokai on shore alone. He was kind enough to have his tag visible and his infamous NB on hind flipper.
On their last stop they found another seal. This seal was so well hidden in the rocks they could not get any sense of who it was. They could see hind flippers but not much else.
People were gathering not for the seal but there was a mom and calf very close to the rocks. Seems mom was working to keep the kid afloat. Perhaps it was new, it seemed okay doing a sky hop.
