Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:15 to 1:15 and there were three seals on island today.
The three were in a group between the 3BS and SRI today.
Adult Female #1: adult size, yellowish gray female belly and two red tags
Adult Female #2: adult size, darker dorsal, tannish gray female belly and doesn't look like there are any tags.
Subadult Male: smaller subadult size, light male belly and two red tags. He appears to be the same S/M she has seen lately.
Team R&B started their day watching the whales and boats. They spotted a mom and calf and noticed one seemed to be very white like whale lice. They observed while the boats came that whale didn't quickly move or dive while the boats were there.
Next to their shock they found RG40 Holokai on the rocks. He was alone and snoozing. In all their years this is the first time seeing him in this location ever.
They also spotted a subadult with a greenish snout foragaing. It could be RL20 but they were not sure.
At another west side location they found R3CU with RP30 Puka. They were basically in the same spot as yesterday. They were resting in the windy breezes.
They headed over to secrets and a volunteer was just setting up her signs. There were four seals on site.
Kekoa Alii RK72 was on the lower sand and alone. RL08 was at the bushes near the entrance. Aukai RL12 and RG32 were on the sand by the entrance area.
On the their last stop they spotted one seal that was pretty much hidden in the rocks. After waiting andmoving for a different angle they realized was RL42 Leia. They walked around and kept watching her when they spotted another seal. Here was a little seal with a green snout. They had to move for a better angle once again and they saw it was RQ24 Mauna. As soon as they got the ID the little bugga took off after the wave got him. It appears the Q has worn away and only 24 is readable.
