Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:45 to 12:45 and there were three seals during her observation.
About 40 feet Makapuu of the 1BS was an Unknown Juvenile: juvenile size, newish coat, at least two red tags and unknown gender.
On the waterfront down from the 3BS were two seals:
Adult Female: adult size, older coat, yellowish gray female belly and two red tags.
Melody sent some photos of PO1 and Momma Kaimana. She had a long windy rainy day, which is probably why they look like shake and bake.
She also on her travels went and checked on Albatross and saw one of the chicks that recently hatched.
Team R&B's first stop they didn't see anything when they first arrived. Before giving up they made one more look and Ta Daaaa! There was a seal, RL08 had hauled out, and they never saw him do it. I guess its always best to give one last look.
They were also treated to a pod of whales. They been seeing lots of whales this season, and I appreciate them sharing it with us.
Next they decided to check out secrets. When they arrived there were signs and ropes up with a volunteer on-site. There were two males on the rocks to the left. RN14 Kalani and RG32 were hanging out and all seemed to be peaceful.
At another west side site there were three seals when they arrived. They were to the right of seal inlet on the rocks. They ID'd RP30 Puka, RH76 Kala, and RM31 Kai.
Once they made all the IDs they spot another head popping up behind RH76. The male came up staring at RH76, then galumphed up to Puka and gave him the sniff over. They ID'd R3CU and were very surprised he did not approach Kala.
