There were a six seals on Rabbit Island and six seals out on the west side.
Marilyn spent two hours observing Rabbit Island.
Seal 1 - back on LPB and barely showing behind a berm of sand. During the 2.5 hours hoping this seal would move, but it barely did. Marilyn believes this is a weaner because of the size and very light belly.
Seals 2, 3 and 4 were in a group on the sand in front of 1BS.
Seal 2 - Juvenile to subadult, 2 tags, older coat and some green on the female belly.
Seal 3 - Juvenile male, 2 tags and older coat with darker belly.
Seal 4 - Adult male, 2 tags, older coat and an applied N11 bleach, which identifies this seal as RG32.
Seal 5 - located Makapuu side of the 3BS. Initially mostly hidden behind a waterfront rock. Then moved up. Seal was weaner size and coloration, no tags.
.The 3 divers in the boat were further off shore than it might look. They did not disturb any of the seals.
Seal 6 - located on rocks near SRI. Subadult to adult size, new coat, very light female belly and at least one tag. This could be the same seal seen in the same location yesterday.
On the west side Ka'ale RH32 was foraging and stealing fish, he never landed while being observed.
RG28 Lefty was on a patch of sand snoozing alone and looking mighty green. It was noted the has a new marker on his neck that wasn't there the other day.
RF28 Paakea was mid area of rocks snoozing. He was ID'd by his lip scar from an old hooking and the new cut on his left area by his natural bleach.
Once again RK72 Kekoa Alii was sighted at the water front rocks. He was there through out the day. Good to have him back.
RL20 Kalua was resting near Kekoa Alii. His tag was visible and the scar on his chest. The little green goblin hasn't started his molt yet.
Nalu R3CX was snoozing next to Paakea peacefully. And today during observation there was no arguing. Seems these two get on each others nerves, but not today. Nalu's body condition is looking good coat is a beautiful silvery gray.
