We met @ CE Pt where I was IDying R330 Squinty (by NB on chest, rear flipper and scars). We headed to BB Tables did'n't see any seals or wallows and looking back towards CE Pt Diane spotted a second seal hauling out. We headed back there band found RR70 RIP (IDed by his R76 tag). He isn't making it easy to get a % of his molt but it must be between 20-30%. We can see patches missing on his sides and neck.
We headed towards the point, just passed The Ponds we got to see the 2 Snow Geese that have been around since last Saturday. I first documented 4 them on the grass field at the entrance of the park at the end of the airfield. For safety reasons big birds are chased off the airfield area, luckily these decided to come towards the park side to get the rest they probably need. They look very healthy and are having a good time eating at the all you can eat grass buffet and bathing in the puddles.
We were skunked at the point but enjoyed watching the big sets of this swell roll in and do the landscaping of Main Beach.
On our way back, while I was talking to some officers, Marilyn and Diane found a freshly hauled out R303 BG at 10 Mnts Beach.
When we got back to the house we could still see Rip & Squinty @ Camp Erdman Pt.
Just before sunset I saw 2 seals @ CE Pt - down I went to check and found that RW02 PVKauai had joined Squinty. I met Jackie (one of our posse) down there. Later she sent me a text saying a 3rd seal had hauled out by her photos it's R303 BG. Also sent pic of R330 Squinty with right red eye. On my morning photos his eye was fine. Will keep monitoring him.
Stopped at BB Tables before heading home (yup did the big loop) and found RR70 RIP hauling out. Managed to get a better look at his molt now in the 40%. More tomorrow
