Today's dailies are brought to you by Team Billand, Melody and Lesley. Lesley's Ka'ena Point update is part 2 of the dailies.
Team Billand found Pohaku at KoOlina, this is day 9 of her molt. When they arrived there were signs up but no ropes, so they call security who came with the ropes. They left a message on the hotline.
Spent the early morning educating people who came by, including lots of paddle boarders.
Pohaku was high up sleeping alone, and appears to be 60% done with her molt.
Someone left flowers for Nanea near by and Team Billand made a sand sculpture of a mom and pup. People are still asking questions and mourning the loss.
At west side location Team Billand found RN14 Kalani next to RG28 Lefty on the rocks snoozing. RN14 got a bit pushy and the grumbling began. They fought for the waterhole, RG28 entered first and Kalani.
Then they spot another seal swimming off shore. Seal came in toward the right, then turning and going to lower rocks. It was Benny RE74, came in and rested on the lower shallow rocks. After a few waves kept hitting him he went right into the playboy pond. He is looking good and healthy and REALLY green.
Team Billand found RH92 Nalani at a westside location. When they first arrived she was on her side, not moving, of course this made for a moment of panic, but a big wave came and tossed her over and she finally moved around. Probably in a s deep seal sleep. RH92 moved on turning and heading out . into the open ocean.
On their Ka'ena West Trek they found RW02 PvKauai, he was in the same spot as yesterday but alone. All tags were showing and on their way back he was still there.
Melody went to check on Rocky who was still hanging out in Waikiki. She was still there with Buster snoozing together right up against the lifeguard shack. Melody called the hotline and spent time watching over them,
She left to run errands and returned to find the two of them still there but had moved closer to the water. Looks like Rocky is in the early early stage of her molt and hard to see anything happening with Buster. We shall see how they progress.
