Team Billand was heading out to Ka'ena West when they realized the HECO crews were out in force today. There was a chopper carrying poles into Ka'ena Point, dudes climbing poles, connecting the new lines and cutting the old poles.
There were two seals at Yoks and they were completely undisturbed by all the action going on around them.
RL42 Leia was next to little Puna RK88, looking very cute and peaceful. They called the hotline.
They did some educating to folks who stopped by, at least to the ones that noticed them.
Then Barbara completed the Ka'ena West trek and found no seals, but both Leia and Puna were still there on her way out.
At 2:30 Team Billand headed over to a westside beach and initially spotted two critters. They see Kalani RN14 up high rocks, snoozing alone, and to the right is Ka'ale RH32 on the rocks.
There was a third seal but it took off before Team Billand could get any photos.
Team Billand waited to see if the seal would return but it did not, just the bosom buddies behaving themselves today.
