1/26/2018 Monk Seal Dailes: Rocky RH58 Today & Yesterday

Melody sent photos of Miss Rocky yesterday and I didn't get a chance to post them, so I had planned on including them in tonight's update. Then, today I got another email from Melody with another update on one of our favorite Mama.

Sounds like Mama Rocky has spent the last three days hanging out by Melody. On Thursday she arrived about 3 in the afternoon resting close to the waters edge and was still there when Melody left at 7:30 om. The hotline was call and a SRA was set up. There were quite a few visitors from the community and from out of town, providing a good opportunity for outreach and education.

Today (Friday) Rocky was still there when Melody arrived at 6am and she was peacefully sleeping. At approximately 10am she hauled back into the water. Melody had called the hotline. If Miss Rocky wasn't enough they were blessed with a visit from a Honu.
