Team Billand started out at the crack of dawn finding Pohaku at 6 am high up on shore at the fence line at White Plains. They did their best to put up a zone in the dark with the help of their flashlights. They had to block the small pathway since she was way too close. Team Billand called the hotline, they left at 7:45 hoping someone would check on her.
Next stop to a Leeward Beach they found two animals next to each other sleeping peacefully. These two were ID'd as RK72 Kekoa and RN14 Kalani. To their surprise they spotted another seal coming in RW02 PvKauai, he came in turned to go mid rocks alone. Then last but not least another critter came up on the lower rock, RIP RR70.
On their second visit back to the site all four boys were still there but now Kolohe RW22 was at he water hole resting alone. He remained there the rest of the day. They found Lei Ola RH48 had joined the boys. She got guts holding her own with the boys. She is still hooked but not suffering, not tossing head, does scratch area now and then but no signs of stress or discomfort. On last check all animals remain in the same spot, no fighting and no one bothering.
Gayle found one critter on Rabbit Island today. Good news she came across Right Spot and she is looking good. She was resting quietly and peaceful no one around to bother her. Hoping NOAA's treatment does the trick for her, but I have to say looking at the photos she is looking fine, no signs of stress or discomfort.
