On a pan at 0827 I found what would prove to be Aukai (RL12) just hauling out and galumphing up to her favorite log, in the Morning Glory, 40 ft left of 1BS.
At 0922 Buster (RV08) hauled out , and he too galumphed up to the log to join Aukai. It was sure good to be able to actually ID an animal for a change. I do not believe that he was my U/M on numerous days last week, but ??? They would interact a bit and then Buster would move back down to the beach. Aukai would later galumph to the far left end of the beach and move on to the water front rocks. Once Buster was aware of that, he galumphed to follow her, and both would enter the water together at 1139. I could catch glimpses of them frolicking in the shallows along the left end rock flats. At 1206 Buster would haul out to the flats, and at 1224 Aukai hauled out the the left end of the beach.
Despite many a mile trod and driven by M&M (Marilyn & Melanie) no other critters were found.
At 0755 Diane Terai called with the report of Haupu (RB24) once again floating at Paradise Cove. The Billands would call at 0830 to advise that she had hauled out to the beach.
Cianna checked in at 0943 giving me a heads up on 2 hotline calls. The first was the report of an U/U at the Elbow, Turtle Bay. I’ve gotten no further word on that one.
The 2nd was the report of an U/U at Maili Point. The Billands confirmed the Pohaku (RO28) ID at 1032. They reported that she was gone on the 1500 recheck.
Ocean Safety called at 1118 with the report of an animal at Diamond Head. Colleen would confirm the Rocky (RH58) ID at 1210. Colleen advises Rocky remains at dark
At 1139 the Billands got a call about the arrival of an animal, with transmitter to White Plains, fronting Tower#2. When the arrived the animal was gone. Apparently it never actually hauled out, instead cruised the beach front, which is just as well since it sounded like the usual WP ZOO out there.
