Rain, Rain, Rain, and no critters until my 1515 recheck of Rabbit Island. It was still impossible visibility but at least I saw an U/U at the left end of the beach. An ID was impossible.
The highlight of the day came with an email from Tracy, this morning, forwarding a Charles map showing Benny’s location as of 1930 last night. The previous map had shown him off Hanauma Bay at 2350 on the 17th. Since then he has hugged the coast line, heading east and then up the east side. With all the checking that I and the SE posse did during this period it’s hard to believe that we missed him, but miss him we did. As of this newest map he is near Malaekahana Beach Park, near Kahuku. He never even stopped to say Hi!. benny must be on a mission .... otherwise he would have stopped by for a quick visit.... maybe on his way back.
Team Billand was slogging thru the same miserable, rainy day on the west side. At 0808 they reported Haupu (RB24) once again in the Maipalaoa Canal, in Maili. She would depart to open water at 1534.
At 0931 they found Pohaku (RO28) at the Hawaiian Princess Condos, Makaha.
At 1330 they reported RIP (RR70) at Maili Point.
The Billands are running late. Check the blog in the morning for their day.
