1/4/2015 DB's Dailies: Kea@BH, Buster&RM38@RI, Haupu&RIP@WP, Kolohe@Maili Pt., Nihoa&Luana@Hidden Beach, BG,RK36,Kaikaina,RW02&Ka'ena@KP

At 0644 I discovered Kea (RN46) in the small cove on the Sandy Beach side of the Blowhole Lookout. He had last been seen at the out fall on 12-28-14. Countless gazillions of touri saw him today. All the tour bus & van drivers know him by name. Between here and the outfall, he is part of the tour package when he is around. He was still there at dark.

On my 2nd look at Rabbit Island at 0942 Buster (RV08) hauled out fronting 1BS. Due to his “shake & bake” condition I could see his molt, but couldn’t confirm a percentage.

On a pan at 1005 I found RM38 just hauling out of Seal Rock Inlet.

At 0800 Team Billand reported Haupu (RB24) at Tower#1, White Plains.

At 0836 they advised that RIP (RR70) had hauled out to join her.

The Billands found Kolohe (RW22) at his Maili Pt., hang out at 1402.

 Marilyn & Lesley did the End of the World trek today instead of a soggy yesterday. On the way in the found Nihoa (R912) along with her daughter Luana (RN58) together at Hidden Beach.

At the point they scored a major find ! On the back beach they found BG (R303) near the water line, and higher up were RK36 in the company of........KAIKAINA !!!!!!! (RL54). This marks her first sighting at Ka’ena Point, and anywhere other than the greater Turtle Bay / Kahuku Pt area. As a matter of fact it’s the only sighting of ANY of R5AY’s daughters anywhere other than that location. Congratulations L & M.... Ya’ Done Good !!

At the main pool, at KP, they initially found RW02, but he would be joined later by Ka’ena (RO40)!
