It was an action packed Rabbit Island day. Ewa Girl & Sam were there , of course, and they were almost constantly attended by RIP, even during swim sessions. All 3 of them would haul out to 2BS at 0858. This marked the very first time that I had observed Mom and pup haul out to a location other that the left end of the island. All other haul outs have been within 50 ft of the birth location. They stayed at 2BS to do a feed, and then reentered the water. All other haul outs were at the left end.
RIP was a constant presence, however he never got aggressive at all. He maintained at least a 20 ft. separation. Ewa Girl was constantly aware of him, and barked a couple of times, but basically has given up on getting rid of him. He just will not leave.
At 0901 I found Kolohe newly hauled out to Seal Rock Inlet, at the right end of the beach. He would remain there all day.
At 0902 I became aware of a partially visible , adult male behind the water front rock to the right of SRI. It would prove to be M38. He would haul out to join Kolohe for a while, and attempted to haul out to Ewa Girl & Sam on two occasions, but with RIP on constant guard duty he never came close. Both M38 and RIP would haul out to Kolohe during the day, but since Kolohe just didn't want to play, both would depart.
Team Billand reported Rocky at Wind Sock, Kalaeloa Beach at 0630. They got a call at 1640 about an animal at Iroquois Point, and found that it was Rocky.
They also reported Makaiwi (4DF) once again at Oneula Place in Ewa Beach, however it was a slightly different location than the last few days.
An animal with a transmitter had been reported at Kahe Power Plant at 1052. The Billands responded in the afternoon, but found nobody there.
