7/25/2010 DB Dailies

My first look at Rabbit Island at 0615 provided a glimpse of a "swimming head" off of the left end of the island. There was no way to get an ID.

On my 0723 check of Spitting Cave I found Buster doing 7 minute dives.

Rabbit Island was still a bust when I got back to Makai Pier at 0838. Posse member Stacey was visiting and manning the scope at just the right time, and found Sam hauling out to 1BS at 1118, and then at 1123 she saw Duke haul out to the far left end of the beach. Both would remain all day.

At 1431 M38 hauled out briefly to join Duke. He got no response from Duke and quickly reentered the water at 1434. He then hauled out to join Sam at 1BS. Interestingly, Sam initially moved away everytime M38 nuzzled, but when M38 started toward the water, Sam quickly moved to join him. Any time that Sam made contact, M38 would veer away. M38 entered the water with Sam right behind, but M38 must have said something to him, because Sam immediately returned to the beach. I did not see M38 again today.

Team Billand reported Rocky at Ewa Beach at 0930. They called again at 0958 to advise that a barking Rotweiller, tied in it's backyard, had driven Rocky off. She was seen swimming east, but they could not find her again. At 1622 Barbara called to say that one of their posse (Frank) called them to say that Rocky had just hauled out to Iroquois Point, and was resting comfortably.

The Kenyons did the Ka'ena Point trek on another Sunday adventure. The found Ka'ena and T15M at the end of the world. (I added a link to a Ka'ena Point news story with Team Kenyon pictures.)

This was D#26 for R5AY& Pup at Turtle Bay.
