7/15/2010 DB Dailes

Sam would be the one and only flippered resident at Rabbit Island today. I found him at 0710 , lolling off shore of 1BS. He would finally haul out , 20 ft left of 1BS, at 1102. Despite the arrival of bad guys at 1318, he did not depart until 1345, of his own volition (and the rising tide).

The Bad Guys arrived at 1318 via kayak. A male and a female remained on the island until 1506. During their stay the did a photo shoot with Sam, had a full blown picnic on the beach, and then got naked and did things that young weaners just shouldn't see, followed by an exploration of the left end of then island. When Sam departed the guy got video of his departure from 3 ft away. They departed RI at 1506 and where met by DOCARE personnel at Makai Pier at 1523. ( I would love to be there when DB called this one into DOCARE ...)

At 0640 Colleen called to report that Rocky had overnighted at Diamond Head. Rachel would call at 1410 to advise that Rocky had departed.

At 0754 Team Billand called with the report from Navy Police of an animal at Kalaeloa Beach , with a transmitter, and entangled in fishing line. At 0828 they confirmed that it was Kermit at Wind Sock, Kalaeloa Beach. NOAA personnel responded and David Schofield removed 150 (+) fishing line, with hook and bait fish attached.

At 0924 Dana Jones called to report that Ilona Hemperly had found Right Spot at Rocky Point, on the North Shore, at around 0800.

At 1110 Barbara called with the report of 2 animals at Kalaeloa Campgrounds. At 1123 she confirmed that it was RIP and Ewa Girl, near Al's Beach at KCG. At 1646 she advised that they had departed.

At 1500 Team Billand called from Campbell Industrial Park (CIP) near "the feed lot". They had found a fresh wallow, and fishermen witnesses said the animal had recently departed, and described Makaiwi to a tee, to include new coat, and transmitter.

This was D#16 for R5AY&P, at Turtle Bay.

I am sorry you had to witness more crap from these two intruders on R.I. What is NOAA, DNLR waiting for???? Why isnt anything being done to keep people off this little ISLAND??? Two episodes in a week, not good. Not good for little SAM, all alone in this world. Those signs are big, but not working. Put signs that say, "NO TRASSPASSING, YOU WILL BE FINED, YOU WILL GO TO JAIL. THis Island is not for any humans whatsoever!! You will be dealt with, SEVERLY!" I dont know, something anyways to reach these INTRUDERS! Its for the sake of our precious ENDANGERED MAMMALS out there, who desperately NEEDS PROTECTION!!!!! Hello!!!!!! ANyone listening????? YOOHOO!! Wake up people, DO SOMETHING, IT is getting DANGEROUS!!!!!!

I think some signs that inform trespassers that they are being monitored and will be arrested when they return to shore would say something. I'm not sure there are endangered signs or what out there. Never been, CAUSE YOU"RE NOT SUPPOSE TO GO THERE PEOPLE!!!!!
