October 12, 2026 Monday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:03 to 2:16 pm and there were eight seals seen during that time.
There were up to six seals on the rock flats and nearby beach they moved around a lot so the IDs may be confused.
Furthest out on LPB rock flats was R430 (formerly TempN25): large sub-adult to adult size, old coat, male belly, green ventral and several darker patches and a pit scar at the base of the LFF.
R7AF: adult size, old coat, male belly, two red tags and applied N61
bleach on rear right side.
RK24 Bruno: adult size, old coat, two tags, male belly, Marilyn did not see his N32 applied bleach today.
At least two other Adult Males (AM1 and AM2): adult size, old coat, red tags.
Sub-adult Female: sub-adult size, new coat. female belly; did not see tags.
Juvenile Female: large juvenile size, old coat with lots of green, and green around the eyes.
At 12:12 pm, weaner RV76 hauled out of the LPB channel onto LPB: recent weaner size, female belly and two red tags.
At 12:49 pm R430 hauled out to RV76 and five minutes later both seals disappeared, presumably entered the water.
At 1:45 pm Marilyn became aware that RV76 hauled out again at Middle Cliff, She was still there through the rest of the viewing session.
Alone on the rock flats between SRI and RRB was a Juvenile Unknown: larger juvenile size, probably an older coat, no info on tags or sex.
Team R&B first find was the lovely Miss Kala RH76 on the west side. She was resting when the same man who has approached her several times showed up. Team R&B have spoken to him many times he just does the same thing over and over.  Thankfully Kala moved to her pond.
They did get to see some dolphins for a little bit doing what they do best. Then there were the boobies fighting for a spot on the buoy.

Team R&B took a chance to see if R407 Kawika would still be at Nimitz. It paid off because there he was snoozing away.  When he got hit by the waves, he moved up.  His plover buddy was late but finally arrived.
