October 16, 2026 Friday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:49 am to 1:52 pm and there were four seals seen during that time.
On LPB there were three seals:
RK24 Bruno: adult size, male belly, about 30% molted, small scar on right rear side, two red tags.
RV50: weaner size, light yellow female belly and three red tags, Marilyn briefly saw her N81 applied bleach on her left side.
R7AF: adult male, mostly old coat, about 5% molted on upper chest, applied N61 bleach on left rear side, and two red tags.
Near the SRI channel was a Sub-adult Female: sub-adult size, new coat, female belly, not sure about tags.

Out on the west side Team R&B were on site for 45 minutes and didn't see anything. But then, by chance they spotted Miss Kala RH76 deep in the rocks. They waited for her to show more of herself.  The chanters came and were so loud it scared Team R&B, and Miss Kala moved out a little bit looking over at the chanters. After the chanters left Miss Kala went back to hiding in the rocks.

From afar they saw a little seal and studied it for an ID. They were thinking of U22 who they haven't seen since the Lowell Storm.  They determined this little one is RV20 and he was alone today.

Over at the outfall they spotted the seal with lots of green foraging alone today. They tried once again to make an ID but didn't have much to work with. They did note one of the photos show the seal has two cc scars on left side.

Team R&B headed over to plains and were told the seal was on shore since 6am. They got there late and the seal was still there. Mid-size seal, tags red R06 ..... that's Marvin the seal the lifeguards named. He's back and looking good. They were happy they got to see him again.
They also saw a bird that was entangled with fishing line on legs and beak.... poor thing.

Lastly driving along the west side coast on their way home, they
pulled over after noticing a seal. When they got out to look it was a newly molted RP28 Wakea looking so handsome. His belly scar is move visible.
They walked the area and noticed movement, it was another seal. As they got closer the waves were hitting the big male, two red tags. It's R3CX Nalu.  He left and headed to Wakea, galumphed up and they met. Wakea was head butting Nalu, so he left. Wakea followed and they played in the shallows.
