Brought to you by Marilyn:
Yesterday I viewed Rabbit Island from Makai Pier from 12:01 to 1:32 pm. Then I had to leave to meet a water heater repair person at home.
There were six HMS seen on RI during my viewing session.
At the back of LPB was a weaner that I think was male: weaner size, light male (I think) belly and at least two red tags. He started out at the back of LPBup next to the cliffs but later moved down to the Lanikai side of LPB about mid-beach. I think this is a male, but I could be wrong.
Initially on the berm in the middle of LPB was a seal that I believe was RK24 Wawamalu/Bruno: adult size, mostly molted and two red tags. He was there at 12:08 pm, but had disappeared by 12:27 pm when I looked again. At 12:30 pm. RK24 hauled out next to the Juvenile Female down from the 3BS. By 1:01 pm he had left the 3BS and then hauled out to the Weaner Female (WF) that was down from the 1BS sign (more below). I did see RK24's right rear scar, but did not get a photo.
The Weaner Female (WF) was down from the 3BS when I started viewing: weaner size, light yellow female (I think) belly and at least two red tags. As mentioned above she was later joined by RK24.
Down from the 3BS was the Juvenile Female (JF): larger juvenile size, old coat with lots of green and two red tags.
Out on RRB was a Sub-adult Female (SF): sub-adult size, recently molted with a light female belly and I saw at least one red tags.
