December 8, 2023 Friday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:05 to 1:55 and there were a total of three seals during that time.
Initially when she started viewing there was only one seal and later two others hauled out separately.

Down from 3BS was RG32: adult size, new coat, male belly and no tags. Marilyn thinks a scar above the right eye was visible.

At 1:04, she noticed a seal hauling out about 50 feet Makapuu direction of RG32. She labeled this seal as Juvenile Male: larger juvenile or small subadult size, newer coat, light tan male belly and two red tags.

At 12:23, R606 hauled out between 3BS and SRI. R606 is subadult size, newer coat, light male belly, no tags and a nb on the tip of his RFF.

The sooty terns are in many of the photos since they are always flying around. Because there wasn't any wind noise Marilyn could hear them screeching. Also because of all the rain the island is beginning to green up.

Team R&B were at Kahe watching for whales and dolphins. While enjoying the show, out of no where a mid-size seal swam by at top speed. All they could determine was it had red tags, but had nothing

else to go on.  They were there for over two hours, and the seal never hauled out.

At another west side location they were happy to finally find not one but two seals.  There was Miss Kala RH76 taking a nap alone in the warm sun.
At the other end was Nalu R3CX also alone.
