Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:23 to 1:15 and there were five seals during that time.
Near 3BS were three seals:
Sub-adult Male: sub-adult size, light gray male belly and two red tags.
Adult Male: adult size, newer coat, medium gray male belly and two red tags.
Almost directly down from 3BS was RG32: adult size, 100% molted, scar about right eye and no tags. He was mostly covered with sand making it difficult to get a good photo.
Out on RRB was a Female Weaner: weaner size, older coat with light gold belly with some green and two red tags.
Marilyn noted the sooty terns were everywhere. She saw some brown noddies and a single masked booby adult.
Team R&B wasn't having much luck finding seals this morning so they headed over to Ko'Olina after a friend had texted them. At paradise cove there on shore was a zone and volunteer on site. Two seals were there, RK72 Kekoa Alii and R3CX Nalu.
Kekoa Alii is about 45% molted and was resting peacefully. Nalu wasn't that far away from him.
Earlier Team R&B got to see dolphins having fun as usual.
Over at Pokai Bay they were happy to find Kala RH76. She was on the rocks enjoying a nap.
There was another female showing off her new applied bleach N48. It was RH48 Lei Ola.
Next stop at the cliffs they spotted a seal resting face down in the rocks. They checked it out and were shocked to find RP30 Puka. Its been a while since they have seen him and noticed he has grown quite a bit.
They had been scanning the coastline and saw a sign, orange cone and a seal. Upon arrival, saw a clean coated female with no tags. She had scars on right side, and when she flipped they saw the scar on her chest. It took them a minute and checking in with Melina to figure out it was R413 Makamae. She is looking beautiful in her new coat and resting peacefully.
Lastly Team R&B were thrilled to finally see a whale. Let the season begin!
