December 4, 2023 Monday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 11:25 to 1:10 and there were six seals on island during that time.
Arriving about 11:40 directly down from the 2BS was a Female Weaner: weaner size, new coat and very light female belly. Marilyn did not see tags which makes this sighting puzzling. It may have a small nb on mid right side, the nb is too small to be that of RS34.
There were three male seals between Middle Cliff and 3BS:
Closest to Middle Cliff was R606: smaller sub-adult size, light tan male belly, no tags and nb on RFF.
Midway between Middle Cliff and the 3BS was molting RG32: adult size, about 90% molted, much more than yesterday, medium gray male belly and no tags.
Almost directly down from 3BS was an Adult Male: adult size, new coat, medium gray male belly and two red tags.
At SRI were two seals:
Sub-adult Female: sub-adult size, mottled tan female belly and two red tags.
Sub-adult Male: larger sub-adult size, newer coat, light male belly and two red tags.

Team R&B arrived at the bay and found one seal.  There was the lovely RH76 Kala looking nice and fat.

Next stop was at tracks where they found one other seal. The seal was alone and sound asleep. They were thrilled to see R604, she seems to have some new marks on her.  On her underside looks like bite marks and a bruise.  She was fine and they were just happy to see her again.

In spite of their looking they only found two seals today. In the meantime, Barb took a spill and bruised herself pretty good. Please keep her in your thoughts for quick healing. OH.... and this did not and will not stop her from checking on the seals.  She gives energizer bunny a whole new meaning.
To quote Lesley, "In order for the seals to be safe, we have to be safe first,"   The End.
