Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:30 to 3:00 and there were ultimately seven seals during that time.
Alone in the Middle Cliff area was an Adult Male: adult size, about 55% molted, medium gray male belly, no tags seen.
Out on RRB were two seals:
Weaner Female: weaner size, older coat with light yellow female belly and two red tags. They may have been a small nb on her mid right side.
Partially hidden in the RRB channel was a seal, labeled as Unknown Unknown: probably subadult to adult size and lighter ventral. Marilyn never got a full ventral view and was unable to see rear flippers.
At 1:00 pm, Marilyn saw multiple seals playing in the water between 3BS and SRI. At about 1:35, one of the seals hauled out. Sub-adult Male: subadult to small adult size, newer coat, light gray male belly and two red tags.
At 2:25 pm, three more seals hauled out near the Subadult Male:
RK24 Bruno/Waeamalu: smaller adult size, newer coat with two scars on the right side and one on the lower lip, light gray male belly and two red tags.
An Unknown Adult: small adult size, dark coat, two red tags, it never showed its ventral size, so no info on sex.
An Unknown Juvenile: larger juvenile to smaller subadult size, newer coat, two red tags, not sure about sex.
Team R&B started out early morning at the bay. They spotted RH76 Kala on shore and she was alone. She remained there all day.
They also spotted R3CX Nalu with RL08 fighting and foraging in the bay. They came close to shore, drawing a small crowd of curious onlookers. Neither hauled out they just kept going.
At another west side location they found R606. She was alone in the seal inlet. She was looking thinner today , probably due to her position.
They went back to the bay to check and RH76 Kala remained. This time Nalu R3CX had hauled out and was alone.
