Team T&D hiked out to Kaena point today. It was another slow seal day with only finding two seals.
RL74 Kami was tucked on a shelf in a tide pool.
Kaena RO40 was on the move. They first saw him on the runway, then he did a lap in the main pool. Finally he hauled out to rest on back beach.
Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:20 to 3:05 and there were two seals during her observation.
On the 1BS side of LPB was RK37 Huia: subadult, newer coat, light female belly, nb on her lower left side.
On RRB was a Subadult Male: larger juvenile to small subadult size, older coat with a fair amount of green, lighter male belly and at least one red tag.
Team R&B started off finding RL20 Kalua foraging at the bay again. He was right by the kayaks, and fishers chumming the water with chunks of fish.
RL20 Kalua was seen with an Akule in his mouth, chomping away. He never landed while they were watching. He just kept swimming and diving covering the whole area.
At another west side location they found RG32 on lower rocks. He was alone and stayed most of the day. He left about 1:30 when the high tide rolled in.
They found RH32 Kaale on the rocks snoozing at another site. But something got him upset when he galumphed off. Team R&B could hear and saw the woman with her many dogs.
Later they saw him coming back to the area. He landed once again and was able to rest peacefully.
They were also treated to the dolphins out and at play.
