Team Billands' only find today was RR70 Rip coming out on the rocks on their Ka'ena West Trek. They went and check all the other areas and didn't find anyone. They did come across a man and his son through rocks in the area. Barbara ran over to ask them to stop but they ended up moving on and left the area. Rip was fine, no one noticed he was there.
Team Billand checked all their usual beaches, from Ka'ena to Campbells and found not a critter except Rip. Barbara did find a pretty little shell, it still had life, so she put it right back where it came from.
AND here's Lesley's Update in her own words:
It was a beautiful sunny and blustery windy morning.
Checked the playpen before and after KPt monitoring.
RN58 "Luana" & PO4 D24 are going further past their pen boundaries on both checks they were hauled out but in different locations.
RL42 "Leia" & PO5 D18 were also hauled out sleeping on both visits. At the point RW02 "PVKauai" was on the Runway and RO40 "Ka'ena" was on Mokuleia side of his pool Both seals were called into Hotline.
A lot of visitors out today most from the Mainland, some from Canada, Germany and Switzerland. Did a lot of one on one with them. All were madly in love with the beauty of the point. It's my happy place and today was one of those days were the colors just jump out and fill your eyes.
The Albatross chicks are getting bigger and looking like teenagers all scruffy. Most of them were hunkered down because of the wind and some juveniles/adults were flying around.
Pretty shell back home
