When I heard on last night’s 6 o’clock news that the Solar Impulse would be departing this morning I KNEW that Team Billand would be there. Sure enough they checked in at 0615 with shots of the departure of the aircraft. Thanks guys !!!
At 0830 the Billands reported Benny (RE74) snoozin’ at the lighthouse, CIP.
The highlight of the day , for me , began with a call from the Billands at 0945 , advising that they had a foraging animal off shore of the Reef Runway. At 1013 they advised that they thought they saw a left side mid body bleach. At 1051 they called to say that they were pretty sure it was Kaiwi. When I saw Barbara’s shots at 1500, and compared them to shots in the Kaiwi (RK96), it was apparent that it was, in fact, Kaiwi !!! This is the 2nd time that they have seen her there.
A Dana text at 1000 brought several pieces of information. She advised that Laura Lynn was at Ka’ena Pt, and had identified “N9" (Ka’ena RO40), “W04" (RW02), “N58" (Luana RN58) plus an U/U at the End of the World. I am hoping for shots.
Also on the 1000 text Dana advised that R5AY was once again at Hauula. Don was with her during her stay. At 1041 Diane G., also reported R5AY. A Tony Q., text advised that she had departed at 1331.
Dana also advised that RK36 was once again at Right Spot’s Spot, Turtle Bay, reported by Carola Johnston. I also received Dr. Tom shots of RK36.
Another Dana text at 1036 brought word that Right Spot (R016) was at Pyramid Rock, MCBH, and was said to have been there for the last 4 days, without any reports. I’m not sure who called in today. I contacted Lusi Perry and she in turn got her posse going. At 1226 Lauren Snider confirmed the Right Spot ID.
Gayle had done a morning pass through the SE quadrant, and I did an afternoon check. Neither of us found anybody.
At 1440 Darlene & Todd, called with the report of somebody doing a single up at Spitting Cave, but then did not show up again. I’d have to put my buck on Buster, but ??????
