Marilyn called at 0816 with the report of a small animal doing 5-6 minute dives at Spitting Cave. At the time it was an impossible call, but when we looked at her shots on the big screen, at 1230, it was abundantly clear that it was RG32. His L5 bleach was clearly visible. Marilyn reported his departure at 0853, but on Melanie’s afternoon rounds she found him again at Spitting Cave at 1350.
At 0700 Team Billand advised that they were responding to 2 seals in a net call at Nanakuli. Thankfully, when they arrived the found a net being removed from the water at 2 animals foraging off shore. They would confirm that one was Benny(RE74), at 0812, and the other was the animal from yesterday, with the white spot on the head. In today’s shots the white spot was still visible, and in a face shot there was a visible , minor scare on the upper lip. It took a little work but at 1630 ...Eureka !!!! It’s Aukai (RL12).
At 0812 the Billands reported the arrival of Kekoa (RK72) to Maili Point.
Ate 0930 they found Pohaku (RO28) foraging off shore of Campbell Industrial Park.
A Tammy T., text at 1011 advised that she was with RK36 & Ka’ena (RO40) at Ka’ena Point.
Posse member Vicki Hangai sent a text at 1805 advising that Holokai (RG40) had hauled out to Ola’s birth beach, Turtle Bay.
