I got back to Makai Pier at 0908, and at 0956 on a pan I found a large animal just hauling out to the far left end of the beach. Through the day I got lots of shots, and ruled out lots of possibles for this U/M, but it was not until I analyzed the shot on the computer that I could see that it was a probable RIP (RR70), based on his transmitter scar, and transmitter patch, as well as size and multiple tags. He would move down to join Cass at 1239.
At 1132 Gayle called with the report of RG32 once again at Spitting Cave. Posse members Todd & Darlene also reported him still there at 1340.
At 0655 Team Billands reported a swimming head off shore of Tracks, moving west.
At 0750 the found Kekoa (RK72) just arriving to Maili Guard Rails. They thought it likely that he had been the swimming head but ??? Melina checked on him later.
A Dana text at 0840 brought word that Right Spot (R016) was reported at Kawela Bay by Carola. She was then headed off to check Turtle Bay. Awaiting further word.
At 0930 the Billands found Pohaku (RO28) foraging off shore of Campbell Industrial Park.
At 1350 they called again with the report of RL42 at Makua Cliffs. In the
Yesterday’s News department I was remiss in not acknowledging the 9th birthday of Sadie (RB12).
