It took a while but I began to become aware that somebody was behind Sadie. Finally, RM38 would move out from behind her.
On a pan at 0844 I found Kea (RN46) just moving out of the high grass, 70 ft right of 3BS.
All three would remain all day.
A Marilyn text at 0832 advised of Kaiwi (RK96) at China Walls. Melanie would see her again on her shift at 1238.
Posse member Darlene called this morning with an interesting piece of news. Yesterday she had reported an animal swimming in the channel below her condo on the Gold Coast. She did say anything at the time, but this morning she advised that she thought she had seen something on the left side of the animal below her. When she check it against the blog she realized that it was Kaiwi’s left side N96 bleach. Kaiwi had last been reported around the Reef Runway. As we were talking on the phone Marilyn’s Kaiwi at CW text came in. Circumstantial evidence... yes, but Duh ???
At 1419 Melanie called from the Blowhole Lookout advising that she could see an animal at the east end of Sandy Beach. When I arrived at 1422 I found Right Spot (R016). She had last been reported at MCBH. We cordoned her off. She remains. I picked up the rope and left the signs at 1930.
At 0845 Team Billand called with the report of Kekoa (RK72) & RIP(RR70) once again together at Maili Point. Both were gone on the 1500 recheck.
At 1000 They reported Buster (RV08) at 1707/08, White Plains. He would depart at 1348. The Billands had a long day.
Darlene & Todd did the End of the World today. They reported 3 animals, but could only confirm RW02 by his W04 tag. Their other shots were Squinty (R330), RW02 & Ka’ena (R040).
Some shots came in through the Hotline, from an unknown source that was also at KP today. Nihoa (R912) could be identified by her N61 bleach. Others proved to be Squinty (R330),& Ka’ena(R040)
