At 0850 on my 2nd look, I found Cass right where I’d left her, and what would prove to be Kainoa (RN04) & Kea (RN46) playing in the shore break directly below Cass. They would haul out and galumph up to a point 30 ft right of 3BS.
At 1030 what would end the day as an U/F hauled out to join Kainoa & Kea. I was never able to confirm an ID.
At 0618 Team Billand reported RIP (RR70) at Maili Point.
Tammy T., checked in at 0718 with the report of RW02 at Ka’ena Point. She would also confirm Squinty (R330) at 0816.
At 1036 the Billands reported Pohaku (RO28) foraging off shore of CIP.
Posse members Todd & Darlene checked in at 1550 from the wilds of Turtle Bay, to advise that they were with Holokai (RG40) at The Elbow. They had trudged from the hotel to Kawela Bay and then back to Kahuku Pt. Thanks guys, Ya’ Done Good ! I love Canadian Monk Seal folk.....both of them !!!
A Dana text at 1650 reported the arrival of Benny (RE74) to Paradise Cove. Volunteer Terri was responding. Terri advised that Benny was gone at 1900.
At 1800 a text from The Donna, brought shots from her kayak posse members of what appears to be a female animal on Moku Nui today. Unfortunately, an U/F designation is required. There just isn’t enough to go on in the shots. Nani has to be at the top of the “possibles” list but ????
