Both Gayle & I did multiple checks of the SE quadrant but Kolohe was to be the only find.
At 0630 Team Billand reported an overnighted Benny (RE740) at White Plains. Witnesses said that Buster had been there too, but the Billands saw him only briefly before he began his tour back and forth along the frontage of WP. At 0725 he would haul out again at a location separate from Benny. Angel reported that Buster moved over to join Benny at 1420 .Mahalos to Warren & Angel for being there. Buster would depart at 1744. Benny remains.
The Billands got a call about an animal at Puka Pants Beach, Nanakuli, at 1155. At 1234 they confirmed the Pohaku (RO28) ID . Melina reported Pohaku’s departure at 1800.
Lesley M., called at 1129 advising that she had found RI37 at 2nd Beach, beyond Kahaku Point. At 1159 she confirmed La’akea (RK82) and Nihoa (R912) at Right Spot’s Spot, Turtle Bay. Diane Gabriel & Thomas Sperandeo also reported the same to critters.
Kea has been on the road for 13 days. I’ve been expecting him any second now, and that second came at 1519 with a call from Ocean Safety reporting an animal at the east end of Sandy Beach. When I arrived at 1525, I found Kea (RN46) snoozin’ on the outfall. He is cordoned off and sleepin’ like a baby. I picked up the rope at dark. Kea remains.
