9-3-11 DB Dailies and more

The Dawn Patrol found Irma (R010) and Ka Iwi at last night's location near the east end of the site. They did two major water sessions. The first ran from 0706 to 0840, with a feed afterward. The next came at 1027, lasting until 1240. When they hauled out from that session is was to a spot just west of the tide pools they've been playing in for 4 days now. This marks the first time they have moved back toward the center of the site.

Today we had a group of 5 surfers who wanted to go out a "Left Point" . I spoke with them and they elected to paddle in and out from the west end of the site, and were totally cooperative. One other surfer elected not to go out, on a separated occasion.

Lesley and did some east end fence building in the morning.

At 1253, Sandy Beach lifeguard posse member , Billy called with the report of an animal trying to haul out at the east end of SB. When I arrived at 1300, I found and identified Benny (RE74). He was attempting a partial haul out as I arrived, but his adoring fans, lining the water line would not allow a haul out. He swam off toward the east. I stayed for a while, but elected to leave and check points further east, including back to AD. At 1350, Billy called again...same scenario. When I arrived Benny had already departed. At 1500 Billy called again, with the same story. When I arrived Benny was gone. People just wouldn' allow him to haul out. I await the dropping of the other Benny shoe at this writing. The boy is lurking out there somewhere.

I got a brief look at Rabbit Island at 1430. I found Kolohe (RW22) and Duke (RA12) together at the Waimanalo end of Left Point beach, and Nani (RK60) at Rocky Right Beach.

Donna checked in from the Reef Runway at 1133 with the report of Ewa Girl (RS00), at the birth beach, but no sign of Kekoa.

Team Billand found a rapidly rotting M&M at Guard Rails Beach, Maili at 0711. A percentage is impossible due to not seeing all aspects.  At 0730 they found RIP (RR70), and Maili Point.

Missus Whisperer (Marilyn) did the Ka'ena Point trek today, and found Kerby (RW08), last seen on 8-20-11, 761, and the long lost female , BG (R303) , last seen on 4-3-11.

A person named Kathy, whom I'd met on the Irma line, called at 1551 to report an animal at Magic Island. Kathy said the animal was on the beach, near the rocks, but when Robert Keogh got there the animal was in the trough. His photo confirms the Rocky (RH58) ID.

No word from the Turtle Bay site, as of this writing on this, D#37, but check da' blog in the morning for possible shots . No late night additions to the Turtle Bay gang.... I am really missing the updates about R5AY and La'akea. - what do you say Team Turtle Bay, care to share some? Please.
