9-24-11 DB Dailies and more

At 0545 we found Kaiwi snoozin' on the beach, just above her favorite tide pool. According the on duty volunteers she would enter the water at around 0800, and did a swim session until 1030. Mostly staying in the tide pool but also venturing beyond the east end cones at one point during the swim, but thankfully moved back to within the existing fence line for a snooze at 1030. Later shifts reported a swim from 1352 until 1434, and she was in snooze mode when we called it a day at 1900.

I was in full Irma Quest mode today, but alas, she was a no show.  On my 0647 , Spitting Cave check I found Buster (RV08) doing 9 minute dives. The Rabbit Island cast for today was the U/F, who hauled out 60 ft left of 1BS at 0900, and Duke (RA12) whom I found on my 2nd round check at 1155.

Dana called at 0704 to advise that R5AY had been seen at "Alligator Pond", Hauula. She was run off by dogs. This is the first R5AY sighting since weaning La'akea.

At 0752 Team Billand reported Kermit (R4DG) at Wind Sock. On their 0915 check he was gone, however the found him again about ten minutes later, on the Ewa Beach side of the east end fence at White Plains. It sounded like a routine obnoxious crowd again today.

Marilyn did the Ka'ena Point trek today. She found RO28 at the 30 minute beach, in from the Mokuleia parking lot at 0920. When she got to the point she found 761, Ka'ena (RO40), Noa (R6FI) and BG (R303), and later RIP (RR70) and Benny (RE74). In case you've lost count that is a 7 critter day !!

Hard as it may be to believe, this marks the very first KP visit for RIP.  Hard to believe yes, especially when you made a pilot error last week, and labeled him as there.....  perhaps you knew something and didn't want to share.

Ocean Safety called at 1520 to advise that an animal had just hauled out to the Duke statue in Waikiki. I called Dana, and she advised that Colleen, Don and Cindy had responded and had confirmed Rocky (RH58). Thankfully, Rocky departed at 1832,  She wants to make sure everyone is paying attention.

 RO28
 RIP comfortable hanging out...
Ka'ena and RIP are the offspring of IRMA...  so if this is the first time RIP has been to Ka'ena Point, then this would be the first time the "brothers" have been in each others company.
BG (benny's girl) relaxing while Benny has approached 761
 Noa with raccoon eyes
 Benny and 761
Benny hitting on all the females
And none of them make it easy for the poor guy
 Kermit resting @ White Plains
did anyone ever wonder how Kermit got his name?  here's a hint:
This is a fantastic shot.... the angle soooo beautiful.
 Rocky the city seal
Okay... Rocky has a thing for signs... there are more photos of her resting up against signs... but this one is a CLASSIC!   I think she's smarter than we know
