iMap from Dr. Charles of T21M

Aloha from the NOAA Vessel Oscar Elton Sette-

We are currently at French Frigate Shoals picking up our last campers. While the boats are out picking up gear and people I thought I would send a quick map of T21M the adult male we instrumented several weeks ago at Iroquois Point. His behavior is pretty similar to other seals that use that area of Oahu. He loves the south shore and a bit of the west coast. His deepest dive is 151 m (or
about 500 feet). Most of his dives though are around 60 m (200 ft). Let me know if you have any questions. A little later I will try to send some maps of the Kauai seals we are tracking.

Charles
Thank you Dr. Charles we love seeing the travels of these guys... You titled this as August so is this just the last two weeks or since you fit him for his cell tag?  He's been on the move into no-mans land... wonder if he and Kermit know something we don't know?

Hooray, we been wondering when the post would be on. Awesome to see where the old crusty dude goes. And as usual, Monk Seals are amazing travelers, going great distances. Since you all gave him his transmitter, he been at Iroquios alot!! At first all most every day. And T21M been visiting Ewa Girl at Reef Run way, and now that Kekoa Alii is weaned, T21M spends time near Kekoa on the same beach, but apart. Who knows, that runway is exciting finds of different seals...maybe they been going there all along. Its a good spot for the critters. So far, Ewa Girl was hauling out there, she had a pup, then we witnessed Rip RR70 visiting several times. Then we been spotting T21M too.
Thanks for the chart, we were dying to see them since day one of procedure. We love the chasts!!!!!!!!!

Hey All.
This track is for his entire deployment. Ignore the file label! The little jaunts out to sea are really interesting. Would be great to know what if anything they are eating when they are out there.
