At Maili Pt, I observed Rip who was on shore with M and M. But...the huge waves swept him off and he was struggling to stay near M and M. She was higher up, how she got there was super amazing..she just pulled with her flippers, and snaked her way up the rocks. Rocks, not sand. What determination. And through all the tossing with the waves, Rip continued to watch if M and m was still there every few minutes. There was debris floating in and both seals had things plopping near them. There were large drift woods, pieces of lumber, foam things, plastics, one coke bottle that bobbed near Rip and he somehow got hold of it, that was funny. And M and M got a milk bottle tossed in front of her snout. She didnt like it. She moved further up and Rip got so worried, seeing her moving again. I dont know how the seal did it, Rip just kept floating in, then out of area with each monster wave. he was tossed in between the rocks, sometimes he'd try to climb on the rock, but the next wave swept him off. I was scared he'd hit his head, but he managed. I wanted to stay longer to see what would happen, but, it was late and we had to go. I wonder if the seals will still be there, the waves were super big and strong. What a show that was.
