8-7-11 DB Dailies

On my 0659, Rabbit Island check I found what would prove to be Kolohe (RW22) snoozin' in the Morning Glory, 40 ft left of 1BS. When I got back to Makai Pier at 0907, I found that Duke (RA12) and Nani (RK60) were together in the Morning Glory, behind Seal Rock Inlet. They would both move down to cool off, allowing the IDs .

Nani would enter the water at 1155. At 1321 she would haul out to join Kolohe at the left end of the beach. She would move up to Kolohe, and there was light weight nuzzling, initiated by Nani. With Kolohe in the lead they would both enter the water at 1327, for a swim/play session, all fronting the left end of the beach. They were often visible rolling and playing in the shore break. At 1414 Kolohe hauled out 100 ft left of 1BS, and Nani followed at 1419. They both went to immediate snooze mode.

Team Billand called at 0910 to report Max (R5EW) swimming with Eagle Rays off shore of Nimitz Cove. He would haul out for the day, shortly thereafter.

Rachel called at 0950 to report Rocky (RH58) once again at the Diamond Head showers. She reported that Rocky's molt is 100%, on D#8 of her molt, though her DH stay was 16 consecutive days as of today. Thank you Rachel.... Now I hope miss Rocky takes off and gives you a little break... she can come back when Colleen gets back into town.

At 1429 Team Billand called with the report of Benny (RE74) at the Green Lanterns surf spot at Maili Beach (across from the Waianae Health Center). He was said to have been there since 0900.

In the "Yesterday's News" department, Vera Cober provided shots of R5AYand Pup at the Keiki Pool yesterday (8-6-11). They were the usual excellent Vera shots, two of which were belly shots. I've got emails out to my Senseis, Thea, Brenda and Tracy, for their opinions, but I gotta' say I'm thinkin' female.

For those of you dedicated souls that on on the job out there, I'd like to ask that you pay particular attention to the pup's belly, back near the left hind flipper, and also pay attention to the inside portion of the right fore flipper. Vera's shots may show possible natural bleaches at those locations, though the anomalies could also be reflections or sand. I'm hoping for natural bleaches, so keep your eyes peeled . Previous shots hadn't shown anything, but may not have had just the right angle. Definitely document them if you do seem the bleaches.
