3-27-11 DB Dailies

The first find of the day came at 0759, when we found RIP (RR70) doing 8 minute dives at Spitting Cave, for the 2nd consecutive day.

When I got back to Makai Pier at 0900 for my 2nd look at Rabbit Island I found Kolohe (RW22) snoozin' 60 ft left of Seal Rock Inlet, and Duke , also snoozin', up in the Morning Glory, behind Seal Rock Inlet.

On a pan at 1146 I became aware of RM38, crashed on the left end rock flats of RI. All would remain there the entire day.

Team Billand checked in at 0748 with the report of Noa (R6FI) at Maili Point.  At 0900 they found R2AW at Nimitz Cove.  At 1328 they reported Kermit (R4DG) with his new young "squeeze", Makaiwi (R4DF), together at Palm Grove, Campbell Industrial Park. This is their 2nd day together, having spent the day at Wind Sock yesterday. Way ta' go Kermit. You make the rest of us ol' dudes proud !!

I found a piece of YouTube footage , some or all of which was shot last year, on separate occasions, at Spitting Cave, showing Kolohe (right side natural bleach, Duke (N18 bleach and Irma (N3 bleach). The idiots were obviously way to close, but you can spend some "up close and personal" time with the three. I know it was last year since Duke and Irma's bleaches were last year's locations.

Tony Querubin emailed news from the End of the World today. He saw Ka'ena (R040), and RB16, a young , Molokai girl with her L9 bleach. I last saw B16 just the other day at Spitting Cave. I know that she returned to Molokai after that sighting (per Diane). There was also another animal with no markers or tags, and one just departing , allowing no ID.

Well, the two old guys, made a call for four barrels at Nimitz FIVE DAYS AGO. We are both disappointed, in who ever is responsible...we didnt want the barrels to go back to sea, so we rolled, carried, the two barrels out ourselves, all the way to the parking lot at Nimitz. It wasnt EASY, but, we are thinking of our environment and safety of our critters. We still got two more to go, and WE WILL TAKE THOSE OUT OF AREA ALSO. Just who does take this kind of barrels out??? What IS THE NUMBER to call???? As volonteers, we should all know this if we spot something out there. Come on guys, lets work together here, PLEASE. Thanks Dera for trying too, it is appreciated. Rob...thanks for putting up with my beliefs and grunts...YOU ARE FANTASTIC!!!!
