I was well on my way to yet another Nobody/Nowhere day, but a 1419 call from Makapuu Lifeguard posse member , Noa saved the day. When I arrived at 1432 I found Irma at the far end of the beach. I had last seen her at the Kokee Flats on 2-27-11. She had last been to Makapuu back on 1-3-11. Irma was my only find today. I picked up the rope and called it a day at 1930. Irma remains.
Team Billand , on the other hand, went nuts again, in the SW Quadrant. At 0745 they found Makaiwi, fronting #1701 at the Nimitz Cottages. At 0844 they found RO28 at Maili Pt.
A Dera call at 1306 sent them on their way to Paradise Cove, Ko Olina, for a reported V014 sighting. When they arrived they were advised that he had been run off. They check all of the Ko Olina Lagoons and found nobody, and returned to Paradise Cove for a recheck at 1403, but found nobody. Cove personnel called at 1433 to say that he was back, and the Billands found V014 on some rocks at 1433.
At 1519 they found a phat M&M at Palm Grove, Campbell Industrial Park. At 1613 they found Kermit at Wind Sock, Kalaeloa Beach. A beach goer said he had hauled out around 1415.
Dera called at 1654 with the report of a red tagged seal at Kualoa Pt. Caller said it had been there for 3 hrs. Awaiting ID. (my dollar is on R5AY)
Irma @ Makapuu
