1-7-11 DB Dailies

At 0810 I found Kolohe doing 7 minute dives at Spitting Cave.

My first look at Rabbit Island had been a bust, however when I got back to Makai Pier at 0936 I found what would prove to be Makana cruisin' in the grass to the right of Seal Rock Inlet, at the right end of the beach.

At 1014 Buster hauled out to the left of 1BS and moved up into the Morning Glory.

As he was moving up an animal appear out of a depression at the left end of the beach. I'd had no clue anyone was there. It would prove to be RIP. He and Buster moved toward each other, and made only minimal contact, before Buster moved up.

On a pan at 1023 I became aware of an animal amongst the water front rocks fronting 3BS. He had no doubt been there all along, and I'd just missed him. It would prove to be Duke.

At 1105 Sam hauled out at the left end of the beach, and galumphed up into the Morning Glory and then behind the sand dune to spend the day out of my sight.

Observation and photographic conditions were bad today, with haze, and severe heat distortion over the water caused by the cold North winds.

Team Billand found Kermit fronting #1708 at White Plains at 0800. His D#4 molt is 45%.

Dera called at 1050 with the report of Irma at Diamond Head. She advised that Karen Rohter had responded. Karen sent photos confirming the Irma ID. Colleen advised that Irma was gone on her 1800 check.

Team Billand called at 1606 to advise that posse member Clay had reported an animal hauling out at IRQ at 1530. When they arrived they found Rocky. She departed of her own volition at 1708.
