Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:42 to 3:05 om and there were seven to eight seals seen during that time. Once again there was lots of moving around.
There was a couple that arrived by jet ski and went on RI. They managed to wander among or by all the seals.
There were initially three seals on the middle back of LPB:
Weaner male: weaner size, light male belly, two red tags. He later moved in the 1BS direction in the back of the middle beach.
Weaner Unknown 1: weaner size, mostly hidden, not sure about sex or tags. This seal was scared into the water by the presence of the intruders. It might have been one of the weaners that hauled out later.
At 2:50 pm, after the intruders had moved to the other end of RI, two Weaner Unknowns hauled out on the Lanikai side of LPB and moved to where the Weaner Male was. Then one of the Unknown Weaners chased the Weaner Male and they moved into a depression and then close to RH76 Kala and PO13. PO13 seems active and healthy. Marilyn was wondering if they have been spending time in the water.
Team R&B headed over to the pup site and found Mom and pup sound a sleep, near shore by the driftwood area. There were no ponds with water for then to swim.
PO11 woke up and started nudging mom to eat. Rocky was already on her side, turned on to her back and fed the kid. Then both just laid together in the shallows. PO11 was busy going after seaweed.
Then off to a rough water swim as the tide was rising. Rocky always looks like she will go outside of the ponds, comes close to the edge then takes the pup in less strong currents.
By11:15 am they were headed for the driftwood spot. A lady and Team R&B tried to push the driftwood but it was too much. Then a very nice man came and lifted the driftwood further up.
Then Team R&B flagged tow other guys in the area, they came over to help. It was awesome they pushed the driftwood up the shore. Now Rocky and PO11 got more space to land. They had to head out for a gathering.
Team R&B noted that at 9:22 am a seal possibly a male came by bobbing it head, checking out the area. The seal kept going, Team R&B could not make an ID other than an Adult Male.
