Team R&B's first find today was at plain where they saw a female seal with lots of green. They thought it looked like KG54/G89. Sure enough they saw her tag it was in face Huaka'i. She was by the surf shack.
Then they spotted another seal as someone called out look! They saw the seal coming in another seal looking quite green. It was RT06 Marvin !! The lifeguards were on it and placed signs up for him.
After careful observation they ID'd the female as Lei Ola RH48 and the male was R3CX Nalu. There was a zone set up for them. Thank goodness because it was crowded.
Finally they were able to head out to the pup site. They were amazed by the hundreds of people, tents, dogs and fishers in the pup fenced area that the seals are not using.
A netter came and Team R&B were able to talk with him and he left. A man in the zone with a big pit bull, which Team R&B reacted by putting their hands up to stop. He asked where he could go with his dog, and a volunteer came over to talk with him.
People in the driftwood area, the small ponds with dogs.
Mom and PO11 were in the little Keiki pond near the old birth fence. Along the fence was a family tent.
Meanwhile there was a nursing session then sleep.
Team R&B left the site, in that it was frustrating to watch and they just pray Rocky and PO11 will be okay. Tomorrow going to be a nightmare.
After leaving the pup site, they went back to the west side and were surprised that Yoks was open after months of being closed. There were two seals on shore both males. One of the males very green was RP30 Puka. The other male had no tags and they could not ID so he is reported as an Unknown Male,
The waves kept hitting the unknown male without tags left at 3:30 pm.
Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 4:36 to 5:05 pm, and there were seven seals seen during that time.
In the middle of LPB was RH76 Kala: large pregnant size and female belly. She has not given birth yet.
Nearby was Juvenile Unknown 1: juvenile size, tags no info in sex.
Between the 1BS and 2BS was Weaner Unknown 1: weaner size and shape no info on tags or sex.
In the middle cliff area was Weaner Unknown 2: weaner size and shape, three red tags, no info on sex.
Down from the 3BS was RM26 Nohea and PO10. They were in snooze mode.
Out on RRB was Juvenile Unknown 2: weaner or juvenile size, light belly, sex and tags unknown. Later JU 2 rolled over and moved a short distance away. The coat appeared to be an older coat.
