July 9, 2026 Thursday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:33 to 2:23 om and there was a lot of movement on island so there were either nine or ten seals.
There was a Sub-adult Male: subadult to adult size, light yellow male belly with some green, older coat and dark patches below the eyes and two red tags. This male was in the same location throughout Marilyn's viewing session.
Early on there was a Weaner Unknown just off the LPB and onto the rocks. The WU soon disappeared and may be the same WU that came back much later.
Also when Marilyn started viewing there was a Sub-adult Female: large juvenile to small sub-adult size,, new coat, light gray female belly and two red tags.
On the 1BS side of the LPB was RH76 Kala and her pup PO13. The pup was briefly in form of mom near her head, but then galumphed behind mom and was hidden the rest of the time.
At 1:47 pm two seals hauled out to the middle of LPB from the LPB channel: on of these seals was a Sub-adult Unknown and the other was an Unknown Unknown. The SU had a darker dorsal coat and a yellow-brownish ventral no info on sex or tags.
The UU was of undetermined size and covered with sand. No info on size, sex or tags.
Between Middle Cliff and 3BS was Weaner Unknown 2: weaner size, at least two tags and lighter covered belly.
Out on rock flats between the SRI and RRB was recent weaner PO10:
recent weaner size, dark dorsal, light ventral,  and no tags. The weaner moved near the water and slept belly up for sometime, but later moved back towards the cliff.
On RRB was another Weaner Unknown labled WU3: weaner size, at least two tags, light belly.

Day 26 for PO11 and Rocky When Team R&B arrived they were swimming close together. Rocky made her way onto the rocks, slowly lifting her body with her big old flippers. Her head lifts high and gets a big boost to land. Ta Da!  PO11 made it up okay, and she nursed for
about 20 minutes. Then a snooze, but not for long. The rising tide caused the waved slap Mom and Pup and PO11 washed off. Mom looked intently barks at pup.
They both swam all the way past driftwoods. PO11 explored as usual, fat little busy body. Picked up a little rock and tossed it.
They were close to land but mom let the pup play, then she barked and PO11 followed her to shore, biting on mom's body. ouch!
Rocky is such an extraordinary Mom, she takes good care of the little one even when she is tired.
Everyone was good today. Team R&B had a shovel to dig holes for signs. People pitched in to help!
Lots of tourist came and left to visit the pup.
People love swimming in the ponds for their kids, but for now they have to be blocked off for Momma Rocky and PO11.

Checking out the west side, Team R&B spotted two adults on shore way out near the rocks. They walked out about a mile. The bushes were really tall and thick so they made it quick. The two seals, one
male with two red tags, the female might be KG54.  Then they heard dogs barking and left before they came to the area.

They got word of another seal on the west side. They found RU04 looking green and okay. Thank goodness they tags was showing.
