Team Billand once again found da BennyRE74 at 6 am at Ko Olina. He was near the Naupaka never moved just a few snorts. Team Billand called the hotline and put up a zone. They left at 7:30 when a volunteer arrived. They returned at 11:30 to check on da Benny and he was in the same spot having a good snooze.
Next stop Maili Team Billand arrived and sat waiting for the boys to come in. Sure enough they spot a seal foraging in winds and surf. He came in to the lower rocks and they were able to ID RIP RR70. He remained all day and later was joined by RN14.
It took Team Billand a bit to find Lei Ola RH48 she was hidden really well mid rocks. She finally came out of the pocket she was hiding in. She is very alert at all times, no molt as of yet and looks like she may have spent the night again. Team Billand updated NOAA of her condition and that she still has a hook.
While Team Billand was checking on Lei Ola one of the critters that had been foraging off shore popped in with RIP on the lower rocks. They were able to ID RN14, he stayed by RIP for the rest of the day.
At 11:00 am Team Billand went to recheck on Benny, they stopped over at Paradise Cove noticed some signs to the left corner of the Lagoon. Getting closer they saw a seal and was able to ID Pohaku RO28. They hadn't seen her for a bot and there she was on the rocks snoozing. She is looking healthy but not "fat".
Team Billands last critter of the day was a bit of a surprise. Barbara had been checking all the shore line on their way back from their 40 minute walk and they spotted something suspicious at Yoks. Sure enough it was a seal and upon investigation it proved to RW02 PVKauai. He has completed his molt and is looking quite handsome. It's been a while since Team Billand watched over him, since RW02 spent so much time hanging out with Auntie Lesley.
Gayle found Right Spot R016 this morning at Sandy Beach, within a couple of hours Buster V08 showed up. At 18:00 Gayle could tell Right Spot was restless and seem to be agitated with Buster being next to her. She slowly inched her way to the water, but Buster was watching and of course she had words for him (bug off). Gayle left them in the shallow waters at 18:20 since it was getting too dark to see. They were still there when Gayle left, she heard them snorting, maybe they will be there tomorrow.
