That was not to be the end of the story. As I was pulling in to the Blowhole Lookout at 1113 I got a call from Gayle advising that Buster (RV08) had hauled out to join Right Spot, and had successfully gotten her into the water. I immediately began looking at the off shore area with my binos and sure enough there they were just off shore of Sandy Beach. Judging by the amount of white water and activity I’d say they were very good friends, or more likely, Buster is at the very top of my “next year’s Daddy” list ! I’m pretty sure I saw Buster with a cigarette in his mouth when they hauled out together & crashed, fronting lifeguard tower 4B at Sandy Beach. Marilyn checked in on her way home at 1700 to advise that the duo had once again moved back down to the east end of SB, where the day had begun. HMMA personnel remain on the scene has they have all day. The duo entered the water at 1812, per Marilyn. Tomorrow ??????
Meanwhile , at Rabbit Island the day began at 0730 with Kekoa (RK72) snoozin’ in the vegetation at 3BS.
At 0750 the unknown J/M & Kawena (RH36) hauled out of Seal Rock Inlet and moved up to the vegetation line. At 0934 Kekoa would enter the water and at 0937 hauled out to join the other two. All three remained together the rest of the day.
I arrived at Lanai Lookout at 1143 to find Kolohe (RW22) snoozin’ on the left side flats.
Lesley called at 0836 to advise that RK36 was nowhere to be found near the house. As it turns out there was a good reason for that. As she began her solo End of the World trek ( hi,ho-hi,ho, Marilyn was in the mine today), she found RK36 & Luana (RN58) together at Hidden Beach . At Ka’ena Pt she would find Ka’ena (RO40) and an U/U that was just leaving, at the back beach.
Further on she found Lei Ola (RH48) at what is referred to as the 30Min mark on the west side KP trail.
When she came back to the point she found Ka’ale (RH32) at the Main Pool.
At 1420 text from Lusi Perry included a photo taken by a fellow MC spouse, Terese, showing KC (RK28) on the Pyramid Rock beach at MCBH just 20 minutes earlier. Lusi would also respond to the site and confirmed the KC ID.
