Went down to check on the seals this morning. Both were in the exact same locations as for the past week
RW02 "PVKauai" is on Camp Erdman side of the beach - still molting (%not available sorry). From far I saw people walking up to him but in respectful way walking a big loop around. Of course there was some photo taking moments.
RK36 "Kauai Kolohe" had one last little spot of fur on his back. We went down to Birth Beach for some beach time while he made his way to the water line and was tumbled a couple of times by the bigger sets.
On our way back the little spot was off. Our charming seal is now 100% molted.
Late this afternoon I did full beaches again:
- RW02 "PVKauai"had entered the water. Just before dusk I checked from the drive way and saw a fresh trail perhaps he was back.
- RK36 "Kauai Kolohe" was still in the same spot as this morning.
The waves were big today, sets were washing up the beaches all the way to the Naupaka changing the landscape of the beach in a matter of hours with surges to a very very low waterline then from nowhere sets would wash over.
This afternoon the Fir Dept shopper was coming back and forth to get water then take it over the mountain - possibly to those brush fires on the other side.
